Shanahan

Our Shanahans are most likely descended from Helen’s probable 3rd-great-grandfather Cornelius Shanahan, born around the 1770s in north Co. Kerry or west Co. Limerick. Cornelius married Mary Dillane, with whom he had at least six children, including John, my great-great-grandfather, who married Mary Woulfe. Cornelius, Mary and their family lived in Kilbaha, Newtownsandes (now named Moyvane), Co. Kerry.
