5. Maurice James (Old Maurice) WOULFE (James Maurice , Maurice James ) was born in 1690 in Clash, Athea, Co. Limerick. He died on 24 Dec 1792 in Cratloe, Athea, Co. Limerick. He was buried in Templeathea Cemetery, Co. Limerick.

Woulfe family researcher Brendan Wolfe tells us that in 1860 Maurice purchased 2,000 acres of land, which constituted the entire townland of Cratloe, Co. Limerick. Maurice lived there for another 30 years or so before his death in 1792 at the age of 102. His son, 'Short Dick' inherited the Cratloe property.

Maurice married Catherine (Kathleen) RIORDAN. Catherine died about 1760 in probably Cratloe, Athea, Co. Limerick.

They had the following children.

+ 12 M i James Maurice (The Barrister) WOULFE was born about 1732. He died in 1817.

Edmond Maurice WOULFE was born in Athea, Co. Limerick. He died about 1798. He was buried in Templeathea Cemetery, Co. Limerick.

According to Brendan Wolfe's book 'Wolfe's History', some of Edmond's descendants were transported to Australia.
       
Edmond married 'UNKNOWN'. 'UNKNOWN' died.
+ 14 M iii Richard Maurice (Short Dick) WOULFE was born in between 1730 and 1752. He died on 11 Oct 1824.

Patrick (Wiggie) WOULFE was born in Athea, Co. Limerick. He died.

Nothing further is known about Wiggie.
+ 16 M v Maurice (Young Maurice) WOULFE was born about 1752. He died before 1838.
