We can trace our Butler family back to George Butler (born about 1795) who was a musical instrument maker in Dublin. The family apparently had Co. Kilkenny connections. George moved to London in the early 1830s and opened a musical instrument shop in Covent Garden, later moving the business to Haymarket. George and his Dublin-born wife, Margaret Meade, had nine children, including Eliza, George and Robert. Robert, pictured below, became a priest; all other named individuals shown below are descendants of either Eliza (who married John Buckley) or George.
If you would have any photographs you would like to contribute I would be delighted to hear from you. Please email a copy of the photos to Helen@HelensFamilyTrees.com. Many thanks in advance.
