Anthony was a prosperous merchant in Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh. He was a widower when he married Jane McGurgan in 1865. They and their family lived in the town of Enniskillen for a number of years before purchasing The Graan, a large property outcide the town.

In 1908, having given up hope of having any grandchildren - his young granddaughter, Aileen Gordon, having died - he decided to gift The Graan to the Passionist Fathers (it is currently in use as a nursing home). However, in 1912, two years after Anthony's death, a grandson arrived, and two years after that a granddaughter.

Anthony and his second wife, Jane, lived on Upper Pembroke St. in Dublin in the final years of their lives.

Catherine (Teresa) O'SULLIVAN [Parents] was born on 22 May 1901 in Knocknagappul, Clonakilty, Co. Cork. She died on 4 Aug 1986 in Sydney. She was buried in Kemps Creek Cemetery, New South Wales. Catherine married Patrick Joseph MANGAN on 20 Jun 1934 in St. Joseph's Church, Newtown, New South Wales.

Catherine went by the name of Teresa. Her gravestone tells us she was born on 24 April 1900 but her civil birth record tells us she was born on 22 May 1901. While civil birth records are not always reliable (due to parents not registering a birth within the required three months and giving a later birth date upon registration to avoid being fined), I will for now regard her birth date as 22 May 1901.

In 1928 Teresa emigrated to Canada. The passenger list for her voyage to Canada gives her contact there as a Mr. Murphy of Stenburg, Ontario. After a couple of years of Canada Teresa moved to Australia and settled in Sydney.

Teresa's family tells me she was a cousin of my relative Jerry O'Sullivan (1925-1988) who also lived in Sydney. Their families appear to have been close and Jerry was godfather to one of Teresa's grandchildren. However I have been unable to determine the exact type of blood connection, if any, between Teresa's family and Jerry's. Any help in this regard would be most welcome. Please email Helen@HelesFamilyTrees.com. Thank you in advance.
