Margaret's baptismal sponsors were Michael Dineen and Mary Dineen.

John HALLORAN [Parents] was born about 24 Jul 1868 in probably Upper Athea, Co. Limerick. He was christened on 26 Jul 1868 in Athea, Co. Limerick. He died on 19 Jul 1923 in Beennanaspuck, Moyvane, Co. Kerry. He was buried in Knockanure Cemetery, Co. Kerry. John married Johanna HAYES on 14 Apr 1896 in Athea, Co. Limerick.

John's baptismal sponsors were John Roche and Honora Danaher.

John was from Upper Athea, Co. Limerick but later lived in Knocknasna, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick. I have been given information from a family source that John's wife, Johanna, "married into a farm of four cows", which was presumably in Knocknasna as that is where their elder children were born. Around 1903 the family moved from Knocknasna to Beennanaspuck in Moyvane, Co. Kerry.

John died at the age of 54 of Addison's disease (three years) and tuberculosis (eight months).

Note: I have seen the names of John and Johanna's children written as both Halloran and O'Halloran.

Thomas ENRIGHT died about 1865. Thomas married Catherine SULLIVAN (caution: not verified) on 11 Oct 1832 in Athea, Co. Limerick.

Catherine SULLIVAN (caution: not verified) was born in abt 1810s in probably Athea, Co. Limerick. She died before 15 Apr 1875 in probably Dirreen, Athea, Co. Limerick. Catherine married Thomas ENRIGHT on 11 Oct 1832 in Athea, Co. Limerick.

Other marriages:
HAYES, Timothy (Thade)

I had been told that Thade's first wife was a Miss Mullane who had a farm in Dirreen that was "capable of feeding nine or ten cows". The same source told me there were no children from this marriage.

However, no evidence of a marriage between a Timothy Hayes and a Miss Mullane can be found. A marriage record does exist for a Timothy Hayes and a Catherine Sullivan who were married in Athea on 19 June 1865. I am therefore assuming that it was Catherine rather than Miss Mullane whom Thade married, but I am adding a caution beside Catherine's name. It appears Thade and Catherine had no children as no baptismal records have been located.

Assuming Thade did marry Catherine above, then it is clear that Catherine was much older than Thade. She would already have been married to her first husband, Thomas (1932), before Thade was even born (1834). She and Thade were married for less than 10 years when she died.

Thomas Stephen MURPHY [Parents] was born on 1 Jan 1918 in Ballybehy, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick. He was christened on 2 Jan 1918 in Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick. He died on 2 Nov 1994 in Ballybehy, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick. Thomas married Johanna MURPHY on 8 Jan 1957 in Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick.

Thomas's baptismal sponsors were Patrick O'Connor and Helen O'Brien.

Both on his marriage record and on his gravestone Thomas's name is written as “Thomas D. Murphy” although his baptism entry in the church register tells us his middle name was Stephen. This is probably because people at that time in rural Ireland tended to be called by their first name followed by the first name of their father, in order to be distinguished from other locals of the same name.

Johanna MURPHY [Parents] was born on 28 Jan 1921 in Ballybehy South, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick. She was christened on 29 Jan 1921 in Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick. She died on 10 Oct 2001 in Ballybehy, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick. Johanna married Thomas Stephen MURPHY on 8 Jan 1957 in Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick.

Johanna's baptismal sponsors were Rev. Thomas Hayes and Johanna Murphy.

They had the following children.
