Unless Thomas had a brother named Henry or Harry (for whom I can find no birth record), I believe Thomas Henry is Harry, son of Thomas Sullivan and Letitia Busteed, who was a renowned athlete in his day. In the 1906 section of 'A View from Mount Hillary - A Chronicle History Of Banteer, Lyre and Dunhallow from 1886 - 2003' is a piece about Harry and his brother Arthur: "Harry O Sullivan (sic) Lyre [presumably Harry lived in Lyre at the time] was on the Irish team that finished 2nd in the international cross-country championships. Harry and Arthur O Sullivan (sic) (Cahir) [presumably Arthur lived in Caheraveelane] were two of the greatest runners that Co. Cork has ever produced. They were born at Cahirvullane (sic), Banteer. They won most of all long distance races they ran in. Harry was second in the World championship, only beaten five yards, and would probably have won but he lost one of his shoes crossing a gate. He won All Ireland and Munster championships in all distances one to ten mile events. His younger brother Arthur won All Ireland and Munster championship titles in 1909 in the mile and also in 1913 in the mile and also won titles at longer distances. In a five mile cross-country championship of Ireland held in the Phoenix Park in Dublin the two brothers race home side by side easy winners."

A birth record has been located for a Letitia Henrietta Sullivan who was born in Coachford, Co. Cork on 29 August 1906 to a mason named Thomas Sullivan and his wife, Ellen Murphy. Interestingly, we are told on the birth record of his own daughter Letitia that Harry was also a mason. Were Harry and Thomas related? Letitia Henrietta (i.e. daughter of Thomas and Ellen), who appears to have been an only child, married a Bartholomew (Bart) Sheehan on 5 April 1932 in Cork city. Letitia and Bart had a daughter who lived in the United States and married a Mr. Banglmaier.
